TXT to PDF

Typeset plain text, logs and code into searchable PDFs with monospace fonts, wrapping and page numbers.

Runs in your browser. Files and text you add here are processed on your own device with JavaScript and are not uploaded to our server. Some tools download a free open-source library (for example PDF.js or QPDF) from a public CDN the first time you use them. Very large files depend on your device's memory.

Plain text files are everywhere — server logs, code listings, meeting notes, exported chat transcripts, README files, configuration dumps — and sometimes they need to become a PDF: to attach to a ticket, to submit with an assignment, to print with page numbers, or to archive in a document system that only accepts PDF.

This converter typesets .txt files into real text PDFs in your browser. Choose a monospace font to keep columns and ASCII tables aligned, or a proportional font for prose, then pick the size, paper, orientation and whether to add page numbers. Long lines wrap automatically instead of running off the page.

The text stays selectable and searchable in the PDF — it is not a screenshot.

Several files can be combined into one PDF with a heading before each file, which is useful for bundling a set of logs or notes into a single attachment. Each file is still processed locally, so internal logs with IP addresses or account names don't leave your computer.

How It Works

  1. Add text files — .txt, .log, .md, .csv, .json, .xml and similar, up to 30. Files are read as UTF-8 and line endings are normalised.
  2. Set the layout — Courier, Helvetica or Times at 8–14 pt, A4/Letter/Legal, portrait or landscape, optional page numbers, one PDF per file or all combined.
  3. Typeset — PDF-Lib lays out each line, wraps long lines at word boundaries (hard-breaking very long words), starts new pages as needed and embeds the standard PDF font.

Compatibility & Support

Supported Input → Output Formats

  • Input: .txt, .log, .md, .csv, .json, .xml, .ini, .cfg (plain text, UTF-8)
  • Output: text-based PDF with selectable, searchable text
  • Layout: A4, US Letter, US Legal; portrait or landscape; optional page numbers

Unsupported Formats

The standard PDF fonts cover Latin alphabets (English, French, Spanish, German and similar). Characters outside that set — Urdu, Arabic, Hindi, Chinese, emoji — cannot be drawn and are left out, and the tool lists exactly which characters were skipped. For those languages, put the text in a Word document and use Word to PDF.

Markdown is printed as plain text here; for formatted headings and lists use Markdown to PDF.

File Size Limits

Up to 30 files per batch and 30 MB each. A 30 MB log file can run to thousands of pages — landscape orientation with 8 pt Courier fits the most characters per page.

The PDFs themselves stay small because text is stored as characters, not images: a 50-page code listing is usually well under 200 KB, easy to attach to email or a ticketing system that caps uploads at a few megabytes.

Who Should Use This Tool?

  • Students: A programming student converts source-code listings to a monospace PDF with page numbers for an assignment submission.
  • Freelancers & Designers: A freelance writer turns plain-text drafts into tidy Times-set PDFs to send to an editor.
  • Office Professionals: An IT support officer attaches a server log as a landscape PDF to an incident report so it prints legibly.
  • Developers: A developer combines several configuration files into one PDF for a security review, each file introduced by its name.

Key Features / Khusoosiyat

Here's what separates this tool from generic alternatives:

🔤

Real Text PDFs

Text stays selectable and searchable — not an image.

📏

Monospace Option

Courier keeps code, logs and ASCII tables aligned.

↩️

Smart Wrapping

Long lines wrap at word boundaries instead of being cut off.

🔢

Page Numbers

Optional “page / total” footer on every page.

📚

Combine Files

Merge several text files into a single PDF.

🔒

Private

Logs and notes are typeset in your browser.

Why This Tool Beats the Alternatives

  • Produces genuine text PDFs rather than rasterized screenshots.
  • Clear warning when a character can't be embedded, instead of silent blank boxes.
  • Landscape and small-font options for wide logs.
  • No upload of internal logs or configuration files.
  • Free batch conversion.

Pro Tips

  • Use landscape + 8 pt Courier for logs wider than 100 characters; portrait 10 pt suits notes and prose that were written in a normal text editor.
  • Clean up tabs in code first if alignment matters — tabs are expanded to four spaces.
  • Need to extract text back out later? PDF to Text reads it straight from the PDF.

Add your text files above, choose a layout, and download a clean PDF.
